Driving Under the Influence of Marijuana
Posted on behalf of Donahue & Walsh, P.C. | July 7, 2021
Even if you have a medical marijuana card, you can still receive a DUI as a result of driving under the influence of marijuana. If you refuse to submit to field sobriety testing, then your license will be automatically suspended, and your medical cannabis card may be suspended as well.
The Office of the Illinois Secretary of State asserts, “A driver may not operate a motor vehicle while under the influence of cannabis prescribed for medicinal purposes”.
